Kimblewick curb
A curb bit with little tongue freedom.
The Kimblewick curb is a bit with little leverage. You can adjust the degree of leverage by where you place the rein. Either in one of the two slots or in the D-ring itself.
Even though there is less leverage, some horses may experience it as "too fast" and react to it. This means that from the rider's perspective, the chain goes in, this path is very short, which gives a different effect than if you have a slightly longer shank. Soft contact and try the different options for rein attachment.
Listen to the horse. A bit that didn't work today may very well work well in six months. This because you have developed.
including hooks and chain.
