academic curb bit with 6 cm upper shank and 13 cm lower shank. The upper shank is bent outwards to minimize the risk that the cheek of the horse getting squeezed. It can be required to bend these shanks even further to get the ultimate fit for your horse, since the do not look the same. This you can ask a farrier or a blacksmith to help you with.
The lower shank is bent back, which affects the bits gravity so that the bit acts "lifting". For this affect will be able to work, it requiere that the rider can ride with releese.
